Our soils are our future, thank goodness for the hard work and good science showing that we can heal them with bodacious compost. The microbes that inhabit such compost are pretty cool to raise and look at.

USDA-NRCS Soil Health Workshop with Gabe Brown and Ray Archuleta - Holton, KS - January 30, 2017 

Invited by Shane New - fellow soil biology enthusiast and row cropper/cattle farmer - to set up the microscope for demonstrations during breaks in the presentation.  Sure was honored to be on the docket with these two greats of soil stewardship.
